MATRIX 2020:
New & Improved Regional MLS® System Launching February 2020
The Ontario Collective (OC) and the Ontario Regional Technology & Information Systems Inc. (ORTIS) announced on January 16, 2019 their plan to combine the two real estate information systems into one shared regional system. The OC originally provided MLS® system services to 12 real estate associations with over 5,000 realtors while ORTIS provided services to 10 real estate associations with over 8,500 realtors. Effective February 19, 2020 the two groups comprising of 22 board associations will merge into 1 shared regional MLS® under the new & improved Matrix system.
What is Matrix 2020?
MREB Members will have data access to 22 Boards, plus our continuing data share with RAHB.
The new Matrix 2020 system is keeping the same general platform as the current Matrix so many aspects will be familiar to you such as the data fields. But, there will be some new functions and services that you’ll need to familiarize yourself with.
What Happens Now?
Effective January 29, 2020 there will be a transition/parallel period at which time both Matrix and the new and improved Matrix 2020 system will be available. During this time, listing input will only occur in the old system, and you will also be required to review your personal information as well as listing information on the new platform to ensure it is accurate.
As we inch closer to the launch of the new and improved Matrix MLS® System, it is imperative that MREB Members familiarize themselves with the new system.
The old Matrix system has been targeted for deactivation on February 19.
